Decisions or Reactions?
Brett Klika C.S.C.S.

Decision, not advanced knowledge, is the difference between being fat and frustrated or happy and healthy. I would caution anyone who sites lack of knowledge as a limiting factor in their health and wellness. There is no one that looks at an apple and a bag a chips and doesn’t know the best choice for losing weight and getting healthy. So why isn’t the best choice the one that is most frequently arrived at? When you merely react to your “alligator” instincts you make a reaction, not a decision. You’re hungry, you’re body tells you eat fat and sugar to quench your hunger quickly, you react accordingly. Reactions are subconscious and can defy logic. Decisions often follow a logical thought process involving actions and outcomes. The more knowledge you have, you can theoretically increase your odds of making a good decision. However, nothing is more effective than acknowledging your ability to make decisions not reactions. Recognize when you have the opportunity to make decision or a reaction in your health and wellness.
